Exploring Madagascar’s Otherworldly Wildlife

Jason Fidorra

Thursday, January 23, 2025. Zoom only, 7:00 pm.

Madagascar is famous for its charismatic lemurs and colorful chameleons, but it also boasts a spectacular diversity of bird life, including several entire families of birds that are endemic to the island. Naturalist and adventurer Jason Fidorra will share captivating stories and stunning photos from his recent independent expedition in search of Madagascar’s birds and wildlife. Whether you are a seasoned birder, a wildlife enthusiast, or simply curious about Madagascar’s natural wonders, this program is sure to inspire and educate.

Jason Fidorra is a Wildlife Biologist for the Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife in the Tri-Cities area. Jason is working on the front lines of shrub-step conservation, which is critical habitat for many of Washington’s species of greatest concern. He conducts surveys for a variety of wildlife from elk to monarchs and contributes to research on burrowing owls, raptors, and game birds. Jason has worked on bird research and conservation projects across North America and enjoys birding and guiding around the world, especially in tropical countries.
